ABOUT

Some brief information about our business and who we are.

 DETAILS OR LOCATION
Shooters Images, Inc. is professional photography company created by photographers Don and Deborah Kates. The business focuses on a variety of commercial photography with emphasis on custom  motorcycles, cars, related commercial, and lifestyle photography. Our work appears regularly in all national motorcycle and automotive magazines and has been featured in HBO, Discovery and History Channel documentaries on biker lifestyle. Recently our images were featured in a Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy) production and is currently featured on HBO's new series "The Time Traveler's Wife."
I regularly shoot custom cars and motorcycles and believe these rolling works of art deserve the same attention to detail as any high end product shoot. Most bikes, cars, and products are photographed with Hasselblad medium format cameras for the utmost in detail and quality - especially for our magazine and commercial work. We not only shoot in studio (currently we have 2 studios) but also shoot on location using full studio lighting. We have the ability to set up full studio shoots on location.  Several years ago we moved our Chicago location to our new studio in Sturgis and completed a new building that houses offices, a frame shop, gallery, and commercial printers.

Our goal is and has been to produce the highest quality images that reflect the artistry, workmanship, and beauty of these products. Whether we are shooting a motorcycle or a pair of riding glasses, these companies have dedicated significant time and effort in producing top quality products, and our job is to represent those products in the best possible way.
STUDIOS
Shooters Images, Inc. currently operates 2 fully equipped studios in 2 geographic locations: Sturgis, SD and Bismarck, ND.  Each studio features a full "cyc" wall and the latest technology for lighting.  Our equipment includes a full array of professional Sony bodies and lenses as well as Hasselblad medium format cameras for the utmost in detail and quality. Additionally, we have full video capabilities for projects that require a mix of video and still photography. We also have mobile equipment which allows us to build a full "studio" on location.
I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by a magazine for a feature article about myself and the business. The interview was quite long but thorough. I was so impressed by the comprehensive nature of the interview that I decided to include it here on the "About" page. Below is the full length feature article based on the interview along with some of my past images.
